** Upon the conclusion of the House 56 special primary runoff election, the Secretary of State, pursuant to Amendment 97 of the Alabama Constitution of 1901, made a finding that a legally qualified candidate for election to the vacancy was unopposed. Therefore, under that amendment, the special general election was not to be held and the unopposed candidate was to be issued a certificate of election.
