Number of elections for corporate contribution limits (revised 12/22/2009): 39
* For the purpose of the corporate contribution limit to PACs, the municipal elections on August 25 count jointly as one election toward the total number of elections to be held in 2009. See Attorney General Opinion 1999-255
** Upon the conclusion of the Senate 19 special primary runoff election, the Secretary of State, pursuant to Amendment 97 of the Alabama Constitution of 1901, made a finding that a legally qualified candidate for election to the vacancy was unopposed. Therefore, under that amendment, the special general election was not to be held and the unopposed candidate was to be issued a certificate of election.
